Your task in this current study:

Guessing Task in Current Study

  • The guessing task is similar to the one from the earlier study. It only differs in the way that now your guessing opinion and behavior from the earlier study and not from the current study.
  • Therefore, you make two assessments, one on the guessing and one on the decision-making task from the earlier study (Part A). More precisely,
    • one assessment about the opinion of the majority of participants in the earlier study,
    • one assessment about the behavior of the majority of participants in the earlier study.
  • Each assessment comes in form of a question about which of two mutually exclusive statements is true.
    Like...
    • In the earlier study, most people said it is OK to choose A / B
    • - in the guessing task.
    • In the earlier study, most people chose A / B
    • - in the decision-making task.

  • In both assessments you have to decide which statement you think is true.
  • Independent of your decision, a random draw (50:50 chance) picks one of the two assessments to be payoff relevant.
  • If your answer in the chosen assessment is correct, you receive a bonus payment of £0.25.
  • Correct means...
    • ...in the opinion assessment, the statement that was most frequently chosen in Part 1 of the earlier study - guessing task.
    • ...in the behavior assessment, the behavior that was most frequently chosen in Part 2 of the earlier study - decision-making task.
