Thank you for your participation. In this experiment, you will report your beliefs about the probabilities in percentage points (%) of two events. Where 0 means that you are sure the event didn't happen and 100 that the event certainly happened; any number in between means you think the event happened with a certain chance.

In every round, the computer randomly selects one of two boxes filled with a different combination of marbles. The computer will draw a sequence of 10 marbles from the chosen box, recording the color and replacing the marble in the box after each draw.

You and another participant will do not know which box was selected by the computer, but both will observe the number of marbles of each color every round.

You must make two decisions every round:

  1. a bet on the box selected
  2. a bet on the decision of another participant

The accuracy of your answers will determine your chances of getting up to $8 bonus. Every round is independent of every other, and one will randomly be selected to determine on your final payment. So, make your best decision each round. A more detailed explanation of the experiment will be presented in the next pages before the start.

The information displayed on your computer screen is private. Please do not talk with other participants, attempt to communicate, or look at other participants’ computer screens at any time during the session.
