This is a study conducted by a group of researchers from a university in the United Kingdom. The research project will consist of reading information and answering a few short questions. You are invited to take part in this study because you live in England. This survey will take approximately 5 minutes.

Your participation is voluntary, and you are free to withdraw from this study at any time by closing the browser window or the program, up to the point of completion, without having to give a reason and without any consequences. Upon completion of the study, you will receive {{ C.PAYOFF }} as a base participant fee. Partially-completed survey responses will not be compensated.

The risks to your participation in this online study are those associated with basic computer tasks, including boredom, fatigue, or mild stress if you find the topic of the study emotive. The benefit to you, other than survey compensation, is the learning experience from participating in a research study and the contribution to scientific knowledge.

We do not ask for any identifying information, and any information recorded in this study will remain confidential. All data with your Prolific ID will be stored on our University secured, password-protected servers and hard drives until the end of the project, approximately 01/01/2025. We will further replace your Prolific ID with a randomly generated identifier and use this data for all analysis. This data, without your Prolific ID, may be shared post-publication of results and will be kept indefinitely. If we share your data, we will not include information that could identify you, and any reports and presentations about the findings from this study will not include any identifying information. Anonymised data (i.e. data that do not identify you personally) cannot be withdrawn once they have been included in the study.
