    <b>Information about the Experiment</b><br><br>


    Thank you for participating! You will earn a fixed amount of £1 after completing this study. Additional earnings will be transferred as a bonus payment after the study within a couple of days. The instructions explain how to make decisions. Please read these instructions carefully!
    <br><br>
    You will be randomly and anonymously paired with another participant. You will never be informed about the identity of this participant. Similarly, your assigned partner will never be informed about your identity. All the decisions will be anonymous. <br><br>
    Overall, th experiment has two roles, <b>Divider</b> and <b>Receiver</b>. To start off, you are both in the role of the <b>Divider</b>. After the study, either yours or your assigned partners decision as Divider will be implemented (randomly chosen) while the other person will become the <b>Receiver</b> whose decision as Divider is cancelled (and not part of the bonus payment). <br><br>
    <b> Your Task as Divider</b><br>
    Your task as the Divider is to divide £2.50 between you and your assigned partner.<br>
    You must choose a Dividing Option A to G (see the table of dividing options below). The Dividing Option determines how much of £2.50 will go to the Divider (you) and how much will go to the Receiver. <br>
    You may choose only one of the options. <br><br>

    <b>Further Proceedings</b><br>
    Throughout the study, you will be asked some estimation questions for which you may receive a bonus payment if correctly answered. The study ends with a questionnaire.<br><br>
    <b>Random Assignment of Roles</b><br>
    After the study, you will be randomly assigned either to the role of the <b>Divider</b> or of the <b>Receiver</b>.<br>
    •	If you are randomly chosen to be the <b>Divider</b>, your decision will be implemented. Your assigned Receiver is informed about your decision and will receive the bonus payment accordingly.<br>
    •	If you are randomly chosen to be the <b>Receiver</b>, the decision of your assigned Divider will be implemented. You cannot react to the decision. You will receive the bonus payment according to your Dividers decision. <br><br>
    <b>Payment</b><br>
    Your fixed payment will be transferred to your Prolific account directly after finishing the study. The additional earnings will be transferred as a bonus payment after the study within a few days. <br><br>
    Divider and Receiver will always remain anonymously during the study.<br><br>
