<p><strong>What was the experiment about?</strong></p>
<p>This was an experiment on the effect of complexity on choice consistency. In Part 1, some of you were assigned simple knapsack problems with 4 items and others were assigned difficult ones with 10 items. Our hypothesis is that being exposed to a complex problem (like a knapsack problem with 10 choices) activates conscious reasoning (System 2) and thus makes subjects more consistent in the Part 2.</p>
