Consent to Take Part in a Human Research Study


Key Information:

What happens if I say yes, I want to be in this research?

You will be presented with surveys, which are expected to take around 15 minutes to complete.

Will I get anything for being in this study?
You will engage with topics related to business management and help researchers better understand individual help-seeking behavior. This is a valuable opportunity to learn, reflect, and contribute to research that may improve how support and guidance are provided in professional and organizational settings.


You will also receive compensation based on your performance in this study: The top 10 performers will be awarded a $10 gift card. All other participants who complete the survey will be entered into a lottery to win $5, with the probability of winning increasing based on the number of points earned. The average winning probability will be around 5% for a good-quality survey response.

What should I know about a research study?
• Taking part in the research is voluntary; whether or not you take part is up to you.

Is there any way being in this study could be bad for me?

We do not expect any risks related to the research activities. If you choose to take part and undergo a negative event you feel is related to the study, please contact the investigators or yyao14@uh.edu.

The survey is completely anonymous, meaning that your detailed responses cannot be linked back to you after the survey.

The system will calculate the reward score for each participant after the survey. Your compensation for this survey will directly depend on this reward score.
