    <p>
        Assume you work for Summit Corporation, a company that manufactures industrial machinery. Half of the
        participants will act as the Chief Operations Officer (COO) and the other half will act as an industrial
        divisional manager (DM). Whether you are the COO or the DM will be announced later. A COO will be randomly
        paired with a DM in each period.
    </p>

    <p>
        The COO directly supervises the DM, who is responsible for the production of air pumps,
        fluid pumps, and conveyors. The COO and DM will each receive a base salary, which will be paid to you via your
        Prolific account. You will only know your own salary - you will not know
        the amount of the other role’s salary.
