Task
The underlying screen displays a table. In each row you have the choice between two alternatives
(left. vs. right).
The left column shows you an 'all-or-nothing' (virtual) coin toss where you can earn 50 tokens
with a probability of 50% (or nothing otherwise).
The right column displays a variety of payments you can receive with certainty.
To make your decision, you'll start in the first row to indicate which of the two alternatives you prefer.
Afterwards, you proceed with the second row, then with the third, and so on.
The coin toss will always yield the same outcome while the certain payments in the right column
increase from row to row.
Payment
After you entered all your decisions, the computer randomly choose one of the rows.
Depending on whether you prefered the left or right column in that row, the computer will
toss a virtual coin or grant you the certain payment. If you chose the left column and the
computer tosses a virtual coin, you'll receive 50 points with a probability of 50%.
If you chose the certain payment in that row, you'll earn the corresponding amount presented
in that particular row.
You'll learn how much you earned in this task at the end of the experiment.
