Thank you for your participation in the study entitled “Bureaucratic Selection Study,” which has been carried out by Assistant Professor Nicholas Kuipers at the National University of Singapore (NUS-IRB-2022-670). The purpose of the study has been to understand how different types of methods for selecting public officials affects the behavior of individuals. The questions you answered, as well as the allocation game you played, were designed to capture the “behaviors” that the research is interested in. The hypothesis for this research has been that random selection produces candidates that are as good as those selected under meritocratic procedures.
Given the anonymous nature of the experiment, which better safeguards participant confidentiality, responses once submitted cannot be identified and withdrawn from the research.
If you would like to receive a final report of the results, you may do so by contacting nkuipers@nus.edu.sg.
Thank you for your participation.
