In this part of the experiment, you will make three choices between two wagers, and after the choices have been made, I will ask one of you to draw one number to determine which choice will affect payoffs.

For each of the three choices in this part, you will be randomly placed into groups of 3; you will not know the identities of the other group members, nor will you be able to communicate with them. All three members of your group will choose between the same two wagers. Then, after all three of you have made your choice, you will be informed of the choice made by each of the group members, and one group member will be randomly selected to be the leader; this group member’s choice will count for the entire group, and if you chose the other wager, your choice will be overridden.

The same process will repeat for the other two choices. You will be randomly placed into a different group for each choice, and a new group member will be randomly selected from each group to make the group’s choice for each choice. At the end of the experiment, one choice will be selected to determine your payoffs from the second part.
