Purpose
The purpose of this study is to investigate how individuals make decision in an organizational setting.

Procedures:
You are about to participate in a study of decision making. The experiment will last around 30 minutes. You will read the instructions first and then complete a quiz. You will start the task only after you pass the quiz.

You will perform a task on the computer. Specifically, you will assume the role of a manager or worker in a company, and will make decisions in multiple periods. You will be paid based on your decisions.

After you finish the task, please complete a questionnaire, which includes questions related to the decisions you make during the experiment, and demographic questions. You will receive the payment via Prolific after you finish the experiment and your submission is approved.

Risks or Discomforts:
We do not expect that you will encounter any risks or discomforts from participating in this study any more than those experienced when filling out information online and in daily life.

Benefits:
You are not likely to benefit in any way from joining this study. However, your participation in this study may assist researchers in understanding how elements of performance feedback affect employee performance.

Compensation to You:
You will earn monetary compensation. The total monetary compensation consists of a base pay of $2, and extra pay based on your performance. The expected payment is from $2 to $6. You will receive the compensation via Prolific after you your submission is approved.

U.S. Tax Law requires that a 1099-misc be issued if U.S. tax residents receive $600 or more per calendar year. If non-U.S. tax residents receive more than $75, mandatory 30% withholding is required. Your address and Tax I.D. may be collected for compensation purposes only. This information will be shared only with the Georgia Tech department that issues compensation, if any, for your participation.

Confidentiality:
All individual responses will be kept completely de-identified and the results of this study will be reported only in aggregate form. We will comply with any applicable laws and regulations regarding confidentiality. Study records will be kept confidential to the extent required by law. To make sure that this research is being carried out in the proper way, the Georgia Institute of Technology IRB may review study records. The Office of Human Research Protections may also look at study records.

You should be aware that the experiment is not being run from a "secure" https server of the kind typically used to handle credit card transactions, so there is a small possibility that responses could be viewed by unauthorized third parties such as computer hackers. In general, the web page software will log as header lines the IP address of the machine you use to access this page, e.g.,102.403.506.807, but otherwise no other information will be stored unless you explicitly enter it.

There are no costs to you, other than your time, for being in this study.
