Instruction

In this study, your choices will determine your payoff, so it is important that you read all instructions carefully.

The study consists of three parts. In the first part, you participate in an experiment in two rounds to start collecting boxes out of 64 available boxes. One round is selected randomly, and you will be paid according to the points earned in the game. The following pages provide a detailed description of the game.

The second part of study includes six independent rounds in total, and what you need to select is which choice you want to invest in and whether you want to pay the tax or other costs based on the information in each situation. At the end of experiment, one round is selected randomly and the profit of that round will be your final payoff. Therefore, each round is equally important.

The third and final part of the study is a short survey.

You will be paid $0.02 for each point earned as your final payoff in the first part, and $0.05 for each token of your final profit in the second part. The final profit is rounded to the nearest whole number.
