Explanation of this type of research
By participating in this study, you have helped support research in the field of behavioral and experimental economics. Research in this field aims to understand how people form and make decisions, and then seeks to improve microeconomic models that predict how people behave.
More detailed description of the study
In this study, we aim to understand how people evaluate the risk of lotteries and how they compare outcomes received at different points in time. Understanding decision-making related to lotteries and risk in general provides important insights into how people behave in an uncertain world.

About the Sorbonne University-INSEAD Center
The Sorbonne University-INSEAD Center is dedicated to behavioral research. Since it opened in 2002, over 101,000 people have participated in studies at the center. Research conducted at the center by researchers from INSEAD, Sorbonne University, and HEC has led to more than 140 publications in scientific journals and has helped PhD students obtain their doctorates. Research methods include questionnaires, computer tasks, or observations of group behavior.
The researchers
Marco Islam is a PhD student in the Department of Economics at Lund University in Sweden. He became a postgraduate student in 2017 after earning his Master's degree from the University of Copenhagen in Denmark. Marco’s research focuses on the intersection of behavioral and environmental economics. He is interested in long-term decision-making and decision-making under uncertainty.

Enrico Diecidue is a Professor of Decision Sciences at INSEAD. He earned his PhD in 2001 from Tilburg University in the Netherlands. His research focuses on decision-making under uncertainty. He is interested in the role of regret, aspiration levels, and time in individual decisions.
