This is the end of Section B1.
You will not participate in Section B2.
Next, you will proceed to {{ no_rounds }} rounds of Section B2.
Main task:
In this section you will be asked to state your preference over the allocations chosen in Section B1. In each
round the computer will randomly select two rounds from Section B1. Then, you will be presented with two lotteries
corresponding to the allocations chosen by you in the selected rounds. Each lottery will yield with equal probability
the number of points allocated to the BLUE and RED account
in the respective rounds. You will be asked to state your preference (or indifference) between the two lotteries.
Example:
Consider the following hypothetical scenario. The computer selects round 2 and 5 from Section B1. In round 2 you
allocated 23 points to the BLUE account and 37 points to the RED
account. In round 5, you allocated 32 points to the BLUE account and 25 points to the
RED account. You will be asked whether you prefer Option A that yields 23 points with
probability 50% and 37 points with probability 50%, or Option B that yields 32 points with 50% probability and
25 points with 50% probability.
Payoffs:
Once you state your preference and
commit to it by pressing the 'Next' button, the computer will randomly select one of the prizes corresponding
to the preferable lottery with 50/50 probability. This will constitute your payoff in that round.
Example:
Suppose that you selected Option B in the previous example that yields 32 points with 50% probability and 25 points
with 50% probability. Once you commit to this choice by pressing the 'Next' button, the computer randomly
selects 32 or 25 points with equal probability. If the computer selects 32 points, your payoff for that round will be 32 points.
If you state that you are indifferent between the two lotteries, the computer will first randomly select one of the lotteries with equal probability, and then select one of the prizes with equal probability. Your payoff for that round will be equal to selected prize from the the selected lottery.
Total earnings from Part B:
At the end of Part B the computer will randomly select one round from that part (either from Part B1 or B2) with equal probability.
Your earnings from Part B will be equal to the payoff from the selected round.
Press 'Next' to continue to your first task.
