Each of you will be presented with the same decision: imagine that you are two hunters and you have found the tracks of a large stag (deer) that might come back to where you are. You decide to hide and wait for it: if you stay hidden in silence until the stag returns, you can both eat. If, on the other hand, you do not cooperate (at least one of you makes a noise and comes out of hiding), then the stag will run away.
You are hiding and have been waiting for hours for the stag to return. From the tracks you have found, you are quite convinced that the stag will return, but you do not know when. It might not even return. Should the stag return, both groups could feed.
Meanwhile, you see a big hare (rabbit).
The decision is summarised in the following table. In the table you will find numbers: these indicate your level of utility, i.e., how much you can feed yourself depending on your decision and that of the other hunter associated with you.
