This study takes approximately 15 minutes and is funded by the University of Bayreuth.
Your participation is voluntary, and you can withdraw at any time
without giving a reason. Early termination of the study will result in exclusion
from all payments, but will not have any other consequences for you.
You will receive a fixed payment of £2.50 (approximately €3.00) for participating in this study.
In addition, you may earn a substantial bonus that depends on your decisions and on chance.

Your total compensation will be credited to your Prolific account upon completion of the study.
Please find a neutral and quiet environment for your participation,
where you will not be distracted. Please also turn off any mobile devices
(e.g., cell phone, smartwatch) and put them and any other unnecessary items aside.
Please only use the programs and functions on your computer that are intended for the study.
As part of this study, your answers and decisions will be collected. Your Prolific ID will be processed solely
for the purpose of allocating the possible bonus payment.
The study is provided via the service provider Heroku (Salesforce, Inc., USA). This may involve data being transferred to the USA.
The data collected will be used exclusively for scientific research purposes.

If you answer the same comprehension question incorrectly twice,
you will still receive the fixed payment of £2.50 upon completion of the study.
However, you will be automatically excluded from receiving any bonus payments.
During the study, you may be asked to use text boxes or chat functions.
Please do not enter any personal or identifying information about yourself or other people there
(for example, names, email addresses, phone numbers, home addresses, or social media handles).
This helps ensure that your responses can be processed in an anonymous form for research purposes.
