In this experiment you will play a game in which, on each trial, you must choose between two available gambling slots.
Each slot can be identified based on its color & shape, and different slots yield different amounts of monetary reward.
Your goal is to maximize your earnings by selecting, on each trial, the slot with the greatest average payoff.
After choosing a slot, you will be shown the decisions of a cohort of prior participants given the same slot options,
the monetary payoff on the slot you chose, and the payoff that would have been delivered on the other slot,
had you selected it. On some trials, these events will be hidden to assess your performance in the absence of any feedback.
You will be represented by an avatar in the center of the screen and the choices of prior participants will be indicated
by a set of avatars aligned above you. Since you are participating for course credit, monetary rewards are fictitious.
Prior to beginning the game, you will be asked to rate different gambling slots on how pleasant you find them.
