        <p> This is a study conducted by the Humanities and Social Sciences department of California Institute of Technology. Through this experiment, we hope to study how people improvise in a social setting.</p>

        <p> <b>You will be paired up with another participant</b> to generate impromptu stories by taking turns, adding one sentence at a time. </p>

        <p> It's a short task lasting about 25 minutes, so we don't expect any great stories. We are more interested on how people improvise on-the-spot. </p>

        <p> The study is anonymous, and no one will be able to link your answers back to you. Please do not include your name or other information identifying you in the stories </p>


        <p> <b> This task needs to be done in one sitting about 25 minutes. </b> If you drop out midway, your partner will be affected. </p>

          <h5> Earnings: </h5>
         <ul>
                <li> You will receive a <b>base payment of 6$ </b> </li>
                <li> You will receive a <b>completion bonus of 3$</b>  once you successfully complete the task. </li>
                 <li> You can also earn a <b>performance bonus of 3$</b> for the quality of the sentences you add to the story (evaluated by third-party raters). </li>
         </ul>

                <li> Average task time: 25 minutes </li>
                <li> Task earnings = 6 + 3 = 9$ </li>
                 <li> Maximum earnings possible (including bonus) = 12 $</li>
         </ul>

    There are wait times while your partner joins or while your partner writes. <b> All wait times will be counted as task time and will be compensation. </b>bSo please sit tight and wait for you turn!
