You are being asked to take part in a research study done by Sneha Aenugu from California Institute of Technology.
This study will help us understand more about individual and group spontaneity in storytelling. This task takes about 30 minutes.
If you choose to take part to the study, you will be asked to:
- Create stories on-the-spot by yourself: Individual round (8 minutes)
- Create stories on-the-spot with a partner: Group round (20 minutes)
The study is anonymous, and no one will be able to link your answers back to you. Please do not include
your name or other information that could be used to identify you in the survey responses.
After finishing the individual round you will progress to the group round. In case, there is no partner to match you with, we will end the game then and compensate you for the individual round (8 minutes)
Earnings:
- You will receive a base payment of 4$
- You will also have the chance to earn up to 1.50$ based on how many lines you contribute to the story.
- Beyond that, you can earn an additional bonus of up to 1.50$ based on how good your story is (determined by third-party ratings).
If we couldn't find you a partner for the group round, we will provide a base pay of 1.5$ and and a bonus of 1$ based on your participation.
This task needs to be done in one sitting. As you will be working with a partner, they will be on hold if you take a break or dropout midway.
