Thank you for taking part in this study.

The purpose of this study is to improve our understanding of human behavior in economic contexts. We are interested in natural, unbiased behavior. Hence, no details on the background of this research project are given beforehand, which is in accordance with the standard in experimental economics. All necessary information will be provided in due time.

The study is conducted by Vincent Selz of Goethe University in Frankfurt, Germany. If you have questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me by e-mail: selz@its.uni-frankfurt.de.

All researchers and other employees participating in the study work in accordance with the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation of the EU, the German Data Protection Act and the relevant State Data Protection Acts. For this project, we cooperate with other researchers, institutes and laboratories in the EU. They are also obliged to comply with the relevant data protection regulations. Immediately after data collection, your data will be anonymized and stored. The anonymized data will then be analyzed statistically. No conclusions about your person can be drawn from these results. Your data will be stored on a server within the EU, which is not operated by Goethe University. We have taken all necessary precautions with the operator of the server and concluded all contracts which are necessary in order to comply with data protection. For future researchers, the anonymous data will be stored on a public database, e.g. Open Science Framework (OSF) to verify the research results and answer further research questions.

You have the right to obtain information about the personal data stored about you (Art. 15 GDPR). Should incorrect data be processed, you have the right to rectification (Art. 16 GDPR). When the legal requirements are met, you have the right to request the deletion or restriction of the processing and submit an objection against the processing of your data (Art. 17, 18 and 21 GDPR). You have the right to complaint to the competent data protection authorities (Art. 77(1) GDPR).

The successful completion of the study is determined at the sole discretion of the study authors using common methods to identify non-genuine responses. Examples of non-genuine responses include responses completed in an extremely short or long amount of time, failure to respond to instructions provided during the study, and/or otherwise clearly failing to offer genuine responses. Participants should complete the respective parts of the study in one sitting without interruptions to help ensure their response is not considered as non-genuine due to time length. Only submissions considered genuine will receive payment.

Participation in the study is voluntary and you have the possibility to stop your participation at any time. The consent given here can be withdrawn at any time with effect for the future. However, if your data has already been anonymized, it can no longer be associated with you. Therefore we are unable to "remove" your data from the result.
