Participants from the first session also complete 3 screening tasks, which are different from but related to the word search task mentioned on the previous page.

Participants’ performance on these three screening tasks could be helpful in predicting their performance on the word search task. As a result, the three screening tasks can be used as screening tools to help you make a hiring decision.

Screening Task #1: The Letter Count Task

Question: How many of the letter B do you count above? Correct Answer: 3.

Screening Task #2: The Word Jumble Task

For this task, participants were presented with letters that, when rearranged, spell an English word.

For example:
The correct answer for “STKA” is “TASK.”

Screening Task #3: The Synonym Task

For this task, participants must select the synonym for a given word from a list of four options.

For example:
Malice:
• Ill will
• Friend
• Court
• Desire
The correct answer is “ill will.”

IMPORTANT:
Participants’ performance on the three screening tasks does NOT affect your additional compensation. They are presented to you only as screening tools to help you make a hiring decision.
