{{ block title }} Instructions for Formal Part {{ endblock }} {{ block content }}
This part compromises two stages: (1) Slider Game; (2) Peer Comments. The slider game in this part is identical to the previous one you played. You will be randomly paired with another two anonymous participants in one group (Player A, Player B, and Player C).
Step 1. Slider Game: In the slider game, participants will earn payoffs through moving sliders. If you move sliders to the middle place of the bar, the quality of the slider is equal to 1.0 and you will get 1.0 point. If the slider is moved to other positions, the quality may be 0.1 or 0.5, which means you will get 0.1 or 0.5 points each slider. The total and potential profit is equal to the sum of all qualities.
Step 2. Peer Comments: In Peer Comments, each of participants will make comments on other participants within group based on the information about others' performance. Specifically, each of participants will give a guess on others' average qualities of moving sliders with the information of range about others' qualities.
Step 3. Display Information: After Peer Comments, each of participants will see others' information of quantity, qualities, and peer comments. The profit for each round is as follows:
Profit = Quantity × Average Comments |
---|
Average Comments = (Comment 1 + Comment 2) / 2 |
Note: Comment 1 and Comment 2 are guessed qualities on your average quality by the other members within group.
This part will be repeated for 10 rounds. At the end of the experiment, the computer will randomly select one of rounds as the final payoff (including one show-up fee). If you agree to participate, please click next. On the next page, you will enter the page of Formal Part.
