Trading

The negotiation consists of up to 5 rounds of offers.

If an offer is accepted, there is a sale, and the negotiation is over. If an offer is rejected, a random number generator will determine whether the negotiation continues for another round or ends. If the negotiation ends, both buyer and seller earn only the participation compensation of $10 CAD. If the negotiation continues, the person that rejected the initial offer will make a new offer. With each rejection, the probability of the game ending via the random number generator increases, until round 5, at which point the game will end. You will bargain back-and-forth until there is an agreement or the random number generator ends the game.

First Offer

Note that at the start, both the buyer and the seller will make an initial offer. We will then randomly decide which offer will be used in the negotiation. We will present the selected offer to the other person and ask whether they accept or reject.
