Thank you for taking part in the study. This research is being conducted by Dr. Margaret Samahita and
Dr. Taha Yasseri at University College Dublin, and it has received ethical approval from the university's
ethics committee. To participate, you must be at least 18 years old and are prohibited from taking part
in the study more than once.
In this study, you'll review a tweet and decide if it's trustworthy based on current evidence. You'll
evaluate the tweet alone first and then with a partner. Note that you may have to wait a few minutes to
be matched with a partner. The study will take approximately 25 minutes to complete.
To complete the study and receive payment, it is essential that you collaborate with your partner. When
collaborating, you can use the chat box to communicate and come to an agreement on the
final text. Please note that we will monitor your chat history to ensure that collaboration has occurred.
If you do not wish to work collaboratively, please exit the browser now. Quitting the study at a later stage may prevent other
participants from completing it.
We expect you to give the study your complete and undivided attention. If you cannot do so,
please exit the browser now.
If you're unable to complete the study due to an unresponsive partner or the
study's inability to find you a partner, you will receive a show-up fee of $0.00. If you complete the study,
you will receive a bonus payment of $0.00 and have the opportunity to win a $000 lottery.
Your responses are anonymous and will be analysed along with those of other participants, and only the
overall results will be published as a scientific article. If you want to withdraw, just close the survey
window, and your responses will be discarded. If you want to withdraw your data after completing the survey
or have any questions, please contact us (margaret.samahita@ucd.ie).
Do you confirm that you have read and understood the information presented above and that you wish to
participate in this study?
