Instructions for Collaborative Evaluation Task

In the Collaborative Evaluation Task, you'll evaluate a tweet with your partner. Together, you must agree on an answer to the question and come up with an explanation for your reasoning in writing. When writing the text, please provide context that you feel will help others understand why the tweet is or is not misleading. It is helpful to cite sources. The text you write should be no more than 280 characters, and URLs do not count towards this limit.

Working collaboratively on this task is a requirement to successful completion of the experiment. When collaborating, you can use the chat box to communicate and come to an agreement on the final text. Please note that we will monitor your chat history to ensure that collaboration has occurred.

We strive to prevent participants from dropping out during the study, but we cannot guarantee it. If your partner is unresponsive, use the chat box to get their attention. If they remain unresponsive for several minutes, please close the window and submit the study as NO CODE. After we review your chat history, you may receive a show-up fee and be given the option to complete the experiment at a later time.

You have 15 minutes to complete the task. If time is up before you finish your evaluation, you won't be able to complete the study. Please note that this will affect your final payment.
