The purpose of this task is to understand how people allocate resources.
You will be presented with six consecutive screens, each containing nine possible allocations of resources between you and another randomly selected participant from the experiment. An example of one of the screens is shown in Figure 1.
Figure 1. Examples of allocation task.
To select your preferred allocation, you can click on the circle in the midline that corresponds to your preferred allocation. Once you have made your selection, please confirm your choice by clicking "Next". Please note that once you click "Next", your choice is definitive and cannot be changed.
There's a 50-50 chance that your allocation preferences will be chosen. That means that half of all participants in this experiment will have their decisions implemented (Group A), while the other half will not (Group B). If your decisions are chosen, one of your six choices will be randomly selected as the final allocation between you and another participant from Group B. If you're in Group B, you'll get an allocation chosen by someone in Group A.
For example, in Figure 1, if you are in Group A and this decision is selected, you receive 50 ECUs, while the anonymous other participant from Group B receives 90 ECUs.
