Experiment Instructions

Thank you for participating in this experiment. All the information provided about this experiment is true and accurate, and the procedures will be exactly as described in these instructions. Since other students may participate in this experiment at a later date, please do not discuss the experiment or your payment with others, as this could affect the results of our research. Your decisions and actions in this experiment will be anonymous and will not be traced back to you in any way.

You will receive extra credit for completing today’s experiment regardless of the choices you make. The amount of extra credit available is at the discretion of your course instructor and extra credit will be added to your grade by your course instructor. You will also earn money based on the decisions made by you and other participants in the room during the experiment. The experiment will last approximately 45 minutes.

Please do not speak with other participants or make any audible comments during the experiment. All communication between participants will take place via computer terminals. Ensure that your cell phones are silenced and put away. If you have any questions, please raise your hand, and the experimenter will come to you and answer your questions privately.
