Performance Evaluation

In your role as Manager, you will be responsible for completing performance evaluations for each of your assigned team’s Employees{{ if player.condition == 3 or player.condition == 4 }} and allocating the team’s discretionary bonus pool{{ endif }}.

Specifically, you will rate the overall performance of each Employee on a scale of 1-100 (with 1 representing poor performance and 100 representing outstanding performance) {{ if player.condition == 3 or player.condition == 4 }}and allocate a discretionary bonus pool of 400 points between the team’s four employees in any proportion you choose. This bonus will affect Employee compensation for the study{{ endif }}. Employees will learn the results of your performance evaluations {{ if player.condition == 3 or player.condition == 4 }} and discretionary bonus pool allocations {{ endif }}only after the study has concluded, and will never know that you were the manager of the team.

To assist in the performance evaluation {{ if player.condition == 3 or player.condition == 4 }}and bonus {{ endif }}process{{ if player.condition == 3 or player.condition == 4 }}es{{endif}}, you will be provided with the following information:

{{ if player.condition == 2 or player.condition == 4 }} {{ endif }}
1. The total output for each Employee. As discussed earlier, this includes output generated by the Employee themselves, as well as any output generated for their benefit by other Employees.
2. How many points each Employee chose to use to increase the total output of any other Employee, but not which point type – A or B – these were or how much output was generated by these points.
3. How many points were used to increase the total output of each Employee, but not which point type – A or B – these were or how much output was generated by these points.

{{ if player.condition == 1 or player.condition == 3 }}

Thus, while each Employee can choose to use points to increase the total output of any other Employee on the team, you will not learn whether any Employee used points in this manner or whether any Employee’s output was increased by points used in this manner.

{{ endif }}

For example, you may receive the following information pertaining to the work period (based on hypothetical results):

{{ if player.condition == 2 or player.condition == 4 }} {{ endif }} {{ if player.condition == 2 or player.condition == 4 }} {{ endif }} {{ if player.condition == 2 or player.condition == 4 }} {{ endif }} {{ if player.condition == 2 or player.condition == 4 }} {{ endif }} {{ if player.condition == 2 or player.condition == 4 }} {{ endif }}
