{{ if player.role == "Employee" }}

In each period, your team’s manager will know your team’s total output but will not know how many points each team member contributed or the rate at which each team member’s contributed points increased total team output (their productivity). Your team’s manager only knows that productivity differs between employees and ranges from 4.5 to 9.5, with an average of 7.

Because of the limited information available, your team’s manager relies on you and your team members to provide peer evaluations of each other in each period.

In each period, you and your team members will rate each other’s performance on a scale of 0-100, where higher numbers indicate better performance. You will submit your peer evaluations to your team’s manager after learning how many points each team member contributed toward increasing the team’s output, how much team output was increased by the points contributed by each team member, and what the team’s total output was for the period. No team member will learn the results of any other team member’s peer evaluations in any period or after the study has concluded.

The following summarizes the information learned in each period by each member of a team:

Information learned by:
Employees Managers
Points contributed by each employee toward increasing team output
How much team output was increased by the points contributed by each employee
Total team output Total team output
  Peer evaluations of each other’s performance

{{ if player.condition == 1 or player.condition == 3 }} Your team’s manager will view peer evaluations before allocating any bonus received by the team for meeting/exceeding the team’s target output for the period. You and your team members will learn the results of your team manager’s decisions regarding allocation of any team bonus at the end of each period. {{ else }} Your team’s manager will view peer evaluations before allocating any penalty imposed on the team for not meeting/exceeding the team’s target output for the period. You and your team members will learn the results of your team manager’s decisions regarding allocation of any team penalty at the end of each period. {{ endif }}

It is in the best interest of team managers for team output to be higher. In each period, each team’s manager will earn a salary of 15 points and additional points equal to 10% of the team’s total output for the period.

The illustration below summarizes the sequence of events that occur in each of the 9 periods of the task:
