Thank you for your attention. This research is being conducted by researchers at the University of Maryland, College Park. The aim of this study is to understand why people choose to adopt or not adopt Artificial Intelligence (AI) in their work. Particularly, this study focuses on how workers` acceptance towards AI. Your participation in this research is completely voluntary. The procedures involve completing a set of questions about an AI which can automatically help in English writing. First, you will perform one reading and summary task without the help of AI. Then, you will read a description about the AI and its capabilities, and you will answer a few questions. In the third step, you will work with the AI. Finally, you will be surveyed on your experience with the AI after you have used the AI. This task should take less than 15 minutes to complete. You will receive $2.00 for completing the task through Prolific.co. You will be responsible for any taxes assessed on the compensation.

If you decide not to participate in this research, you may stop participating at any time by closing the browser window. If you decide not to participate in this study or if you stop participating at any time, you will not be penalized.

The risks from this study are minimal. Please note that, because the survey responses are transmitted and stored online, we cannot guarantee the security of your responses. Any potential loss of confidentiality will be minimized by storing data in a password protected server and in password protected computers.

There are no direct benefits from participating in this research. We hope that, in the future, other people might benefit from this study through improved understanding of the nature of people`s acceptance towards Artificial Intelligence (AI).

If we write a report or article about this research project, your identity will be protected to the maximum extent possible. Your information may be shared with representatives of the University of Maryland, College Park or governmental authorities if you or someone else is in danger or if we are required to do so by law.
