Johnny Depp labels ex Vanessa Paradis an 'extortionist c***' in email to Elton John

Johnny Depp labelled his ex-partner Vanessa Paradis a 'French extortionist' and a 'c***' in an expletive filled email to Sir Elton John.

The 58-year-old actor is answering questions in court from ex-wife Amber Heard's lawyer, Ben Rottenborn, as the $50 million libel trial continues in Virginia.

Mr Rottenborn read to the court an email that Depp had sent to singer Elton John, in which he sounded off about Vanessa, who he had dated for about 14 years from 1998 to 2012.

Depp was taken back to his testimony that he gave during his libel trial against The Sun in 2020.

The lawyer referred to the end of Johnny's relationship with French singer Vanessa, who is the mother of his two children.

Mr Rottenborn asked Johnny Depp about his sister Christi Dembrowski's concerns about his drug consumption.

In the UK court, Johnny had said that the break of that relationship was a 'painful' time and that is was 'more than likely trying to numb' himself.

Depp told this court that at the time he was abusing alcohol but he wouldn't say that he was abusing drugs during that period.

He also told the court that he had been experiencing a problem with his liver at the time.

Mr Rottenborn then reads out an email exchange Johnny had with Elton John from July 2013, in which the actor writes that his children have 'fallen head over heels in deep love with Amber'.

Depp also says in the email that the 'pressure off my shoulders is f***ing gone'.

He then tells Elton in the email about a 'French extortionist (ex-c***)' who was trying to 'brainwash' his children.
