Amber Heard has described her 'hell' on a private island as ex-husband Johnny Depp went through a detox, and allegedly screamed at her and slapped her, an ongoing defamation trial heard

Amber Heard has described her 'hell' as Johnny Depp went through a detox on his private island in the Bahamas, alleging the actor slapped her across the face while crying.

The Aquaman actress, 36, has taken the stand for the second time today, after yesterday describing the early stages of their relationship and detailed the time he allegedly slapped her for the first time.

Today the actress spoke of how Depp, 58, went on a detox in the Bahamas in 2014, after, Heard claims, he kicked her and slapped her on a private plane in May of that year.

Following the incident, Heard said she 'resolved to leave him'.

In tears, Heard recounted how after sending an email to Depp, 'he came to New York to fight for the relationship, to fight for me, to prove he was sober and I believed he was embarrassed and sorry, he said he was, and I believed him.'

'I took him back and I got back with him on the condition he would uphold his promise to do the treatment, to do the detox, clean up and never go back.'

After Depp finished filming the film Black Mass they went to his private island on the Bahamas in August 2014.

She described how the first few days were 'peaceful' but then that Depp was 'up, down'.

'He wanted to have sex a lot, which is just not like Johnny at all,' she said, 'it was up, down, mood.'

She claimed he would 'burst into anger at me, yelling at me.'

She said she remembered him 'shouting and screaming' while trying to upturn a table, but it was screwed to the ground.'

Others points she described him as 'really calm' and told her 'all the time I saved his life, he wouldn't be doing this without me.'

She went on to describe how he allegedly slapped her.

She said: 'I said something to him and he got so angry at me he slapped me across the face, but he did it like crying. It was the weirdest thing, he's crying, saying no woman has embarrassed him like that, no woman has ever made him feel like that.'

Heard told the court: 'This was over my head, I don't know how to detox someone, I don't know how to help them, I shouldn't have been there.'

When her lawyer asked why she was there, Heard replied: 'Because he asked me to, I didn't know that was the most phenomenally dumb idea. I don't know why the doctors and nurses didn't tell me not too.

'I had no idea what that was going to look like or be like and it was hell.

'You're on an island, I am trying to take care of him and he was hallucinating and screaming at me for things I said when I hadn't said anything.'

Depp denies all allegations that he ever assaulted Amber.

Johnny is suing Amber for defamation over a 2018 article she wrote in The Washington Post, which his lawyers say falsely implies he physically and sexually abused her.

He is suing her for more than £38 million, saying her domestic abuse claims have harmed his career and reputation.

Amber has filed a countersuit against Johnny, seeking almost £78 million in damages and saying his legal team falsely accused her of fabricating claims against the actor.
