HE has won Brit awards, No1s and lots of female admirers, but Sam Fender has yet to crack America.

However, that is about to change as the crooner is prepping his third album with a new, dancey sound.

We can reveal that Sam is working with Brit super-producer Markus Dravs, who has worked with Coldplay, Wolf Alice, Bjork and Florence + The Machine.

Markus is well established Stateside and has picked up three Grammys, so he knows the formula for success there.

A source said: “Sam has had a blinding few years in the UK and his next move is try to crack America.

'It’s no mean feat but with the right team around him he definitely has what it takes to knock their socks off.

'He has already mastered the melodic indie rock genre, but record label bosses are hoping his collab with Markus could add a different vibe to his sound and include some potential up-tempo dance hits.”

Sam isn’t afraid to spread his artistic wings. Last month he revealed that he had teamed up with Bruce Springsteen, Sting and Mark Knopfler on a superstar song.

He revealed: “Sting occasionally FaceTimes us, weirdly I always end up being in the bath.

'We were in the studio the other day. I did a charity thing with him and Mark Knopfler.

“I just did some guitar stuff, which was the most f***ing nerve-wracking thing ever.

'Going in to do a guitar take on a Mark Knopfler song — he’s one of the best guitarists ever. Springsteen’s on it as well.”

But not all his superstar encounters end so well.

Last week he apologised for posting a snap of himself in Newcastle with Johnny Depp and calling him a “hero” on the same day the verdict was delivered in the actor’s defamation case against ex Amber Heard.

Sam said: “I now realise that it was a poor choice of words and timing.”
