JOHNNY Depp has doubled the asking price on his French estate to £42million (€50million).

The compound boasts more than a dozen buildings and was first put up for sale in June 2015 for roughly £20million.

The expansive, 37 acre, property was taken off the market after a few months but is now up for sale again.

It is being sold fully furnished with DVDs still in the bookshelves.

The Pirates of the Caribbean actor is in the middle of a very public divorce with his estranged wife Amber Heard.

With more than a dozen buildings, it boasts two swimming pools, a gym, a skate park, a restaurant with a professional kitchen, a launderette and a garage.

A church on the site has been converted into a guest house with the confession box converted into a wardrobe.

The family used the on-site restaurant as their dining room and the main house, which boasts 4,300 sq ft has five bedrooms, three and a half bathrooms and an art studio.

Alexander Kraft, chairman of Sotheby’s International Realty France, who previously listed the property, revealed that 'Johnny had decided to sell the Plan de la Tour property to close this chapter of his life and move on.

'He hopes that someone else will enjoy the property as much as he did and bring him or her the same happiness it brought.

'It was in a pretty rough state.'

The estate is now listed with Rick Hilton of Hilton & Hyland and Michaël Zingraf of France-based Michaël Zingraf Real Estate.

Mr Hilton, of the Hilton hotel dynasty, told the Wall Street Journal that Johnny thought the property was priced too low last year.

He said: “Mr. Depp feels that €50 million is the appropriate price for this asset.'

Last month, Johnny, sold off his collection of artworks by Jean-Michel Basquiat for £11million via Christie's auction house.

It's believed the Hollywood star spent 25 years putting the collection together before he auctioned them off.

However, his previous estate agent believed he had priced the rustic property too high in the beginning.

The Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is believed to have spent a lot of time there with his former partner Vanessa Paradis and their children, Lily-Rose and John 'Jack' Christopher.

He bought the property in 2000 and is believed to have invested around £8million into the 19th century buildings over the past 16 years.

The 53-year-old loved the estate, which is around 17 miles from St Tropez.

Johnny has also put his four-story Venetian mansion up for sale for £8.3million according to a local newspaper.

The 17th century home overlooks the famous grand Canbal and has seven bedrooms and nine bathrooms.

If it sells at that price, he's set to make a loss as he paid £9.9million for it back in January 2011.

Amber and johnny split back in May amid the actress' explosive allegations of domestic violence.

She accused the Hollywood hunk of smashing an iPhone in her face two days before she filed for divorce.

The actress also sensationally alleged he beat her in drug-fuelled rages during their 15-month marriage.

They failed to sign a pre-nuptial agreement prior to their wedding last year in what could be a costly mistake for Johnny.

Reports suggest Amber could walk away with a hefty settlement at the end of the fierce divorce battle.
