Clinical and forensic psychologist Dr. Shannon Curry has testified in the defamation case between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard and suggests the actress may suffer from borderline personality disorder

A psychologist has accused Amber Heard of suffering from a borderline personality disorder that causes her to imitate Johnny Depp’s style, voice and interests.

The blonde bombshell actress, 36, has been defending herself in court against 58-year-old Johnny for the past two weeks as he has accused her of defamation.

The Pirates of the Caribbean star is suing Amber for a reported $50 million (£40 million) after he took offence to an article about domestic violence that she wrote in the Washington Post in 2018 – arguing the article defamed him despite the fact Amber did not once mention him by name in the piece.

With the stars now locking horns in court – and with sordid details of their personal lives emerging through the case making headlines around the world – clinical and forensic psychologist Dr. Shannon Curry took to the stand to give a testimony where she floated a theory that Amber is copying her ex-husband’s outfit choices.

Dr Curry has studied Amber’s medical records, mental health treatments, footage, audio, and case documents and met with the Aquaman star twice in 2021.

Taking the stand, the psychologist suggested the star may suffer from borderline personality disorder which could cause her to: 'take on the identity of the people they are spending time with because it's comforting.'

She explained that: “When somebody with this disorder is going through that initial enmeshment phase they often will take on the identities of those people.'

The medical expert went on to claim that those who suffer with such a disorder could 'mimic the way they dress, their interests' and 'the way they talk.'

Dr Curry also told the court and jury that she diagnosed Heard with Histrionic personality disorder, saying: “These are really two sides of the same coin,” and added that the disorders as 'dramatic, erratic, and emotional,” and: “unpredictable.'

Fans of Johnny have already accused Amber of imitating his style, with one writing on social media: “I’ve been watching the Johnny Depp trial and noticed that Amber Heard is mirroring him through outfits.”

While another claimed: “When Johnny wore a grey suit…the next day she wore the same thing. Then he wore a Gucci ensemble and then she wore it the next day.”

The explosive trial is due to rumble on for several more weeks.

Text messages have been read out in court which show Johnny communicating with various friends where he has stated he wants Amber to be “burned’ and that he wants her “rotting corpse” to be found “decomposing in the f**king trunk of a Honda Civic.”

While footage has shown the Hollywood star flying into a furious rage where he smashes bottles and cabinets in a kitchen.
