I f you thought Johnny Depp's apology to Australia was the strangest video of his you’d watch this year, think again.

The trailer for the actor’s forthcoming comedy-action film Yoga Hosers is here, and it’s fair to say that his propensity for on-screen transformations has been taken to the next level.

Depp stars as Guy LaPointe, a “legendary manhunter from Quebec” in the latest film from Kevin Smith – and it’s actually the second time he’s taken on the role.

Depp previously gave a small surprise performance as LaPoint in Smith’s previous film Tusk, but takes a more prominent role in Yoga Hosers.

The film also stars his daughter Lily-Rose Depp as one of its leading ladies, alongside Smith's daughter Harley Quinn.

Believe it or not, Depp’s bizarre new look isn’t the strangest thing about the project – which sees two teenage girls fight off a plague of sentient Nazi sausages in Canada using their love of yoga.

The film debuted at Sundance earlier this year and was largely panned by critics. Still, it can’t be as bad as Mordecai – can it?

It’s due for release in the US on July 19, but currently has no confirmed UK release date.
