{{ block title }} Announcing timer {{ endblock }} {{ block content }} In the following tasks, you will have to guess the difference of two annual statistics on a US state-level. Examples of such differences would be the difference in average inflation rate between two states during the same year or the difference in cancer mortality during two different years in the same state.

All statistics used in this study are based on data from {{ if player.myTreatment == 0 }} the National Centers for Environmental Information {{ endif }} {{ if player.myTreatment == 1 }} the United States Census and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) {{ endif }}. At the end of the study, you will receive links through which you can verify the statistics that were used.

The bonus that you will receive for participating in this study will depend on how close your guess is to the real difference between the two statistics. If you do not enter a guess, you won't receive a bonus for this task.

These guesses will have to be made under time pressure. The time left for the input of your guess will be visible on the following pages, just as the timer on the top of this page is. The time available for each guess will be announced in advance.

We first start with a practice task.
