{{ block title }}Experimental session on economic decision-making{{ endblock }} {{ block content }} The instructions will now be read by the experimenter. Please read along.

Thank you for participating in this experimental session on economic decision-making. In this experiment, some of you will have the chance to win a prize. Whether you receive the prize or not depends partly on your actions and partly on the actions of other participants.

There will be a number of pauses for you to ask questions. During such a pause, please raise your hand if you want to ask a question. Apart from asking questions in this way, you must not communicate with anybody in this room. It is essential that you do not communicate with the other participants in any way. Please also refrain from looking into the screen of the other participants!

In this experiment, we will simulate two different markets. For that, this session today consists of 7 rounds in total:
  • Round 1 is a test round to familiarize yourselves with the tool and to understand how a market works.
  • In rounds 2-4, the simulation of Market 1 takes place.
  • In rounds 5-7, the simulation of Market 2 takes place.

  • One round consists of two parts:
  • In Part 1, there will be the market simulation.
  • In Part 2, there will be a game which decides who will have the chance to win the prize of the market simulation.

  • After each round, there will be some winners.

However, per market (Market 1 and Market 2), ONE round will be randomly selected and ONLY the winners of the randomly chosen round will receive the payoff at completion of Market 1 and Market 2, respectively. The "losers" will NOT have the possibility to get anything.

We will now complete the test round together. If you have any questions, please raise your hand now.
