In Task 2, you will play a bomb game. On the screen, you will see a grid with 25 boxes. Inside one of these boxes, there is a bomb, but you don’t know its exact location.
You are free to select the boxes you want to open, and there is no restriction on the number of boxes you choose to open. For each box you open up, you can earn an extra 1 token if there is no bomb inside. However, if you come across the bomb in the boxes you open up, you will end up with nothing in Task 2. In essence, opening more boxes increases the potential for earning more tokens, provided no bombs are found. Nevertheless, the larger the number of boxes opened, the higher the likelihood of encountering a bomb.
You can choose the boxes to open by clicking on them (you are able to undo your choice by clicking on the same box again). Once you have chosen all the boxes you want to open, first click on the "Confirm" button, followed by the "Open boxes" button to find out where the bomb is and how much you can earn in Task 2. Note that the bomb game will be played only once.
Imagine that you have picked 12 boxes, as shown below.
You need to click on the "Confirm" button, then the “Open boxes” button to find out whether the bomb is inside one of the open boxes or not. If not, you receive 12 tokens. Otherwise, you won’t earn any token.
After Task 2, you need to fill in a short survey collecting some of your personal information. After that, you will receive a summary about your earned tokens in the experiment. You can exchange these tokens for some small gifts.
