For four rounds, the role W player will work on easy transcription assignments (6 Greek letters), each will last 60 seconds.
While the role W player is working on the transcription assignments, the role M player will rate the overall difficulty (with a scale from 1 to 7, where 1 = extremely easy and 7 = extremely difficult) of each of the assignments.
At the end of each round, the role M player will receive a performance report of the role W player he/she has been paired. The report will include the transcription entered for each assignment, the solution for the assignments attempted, the result for each assignment, and the time spent on each assignment.
After reading the report, the role M player may send feedback to the role W player (empty message is allowed). Feedback will be in the form of a message selected from a list of messages to be provided.
Role W player will not receive any other feedback on their performance until the end of the Part II (after stage IV).
A role W player will be paid 1 ECU for each letter the player transcribes correctly. He/she will also receive a bonus of 10 ECUs for each string the player transcribes “fully correctly.” A transcription is “fully correct” if and only if the input perfectly matches the string in the image.
A role M player’s payoff for each round will equal to payoff earned by the role W player.
