Before working in pairs, you will be given a chance to experience the tasks that the worker will undertake: transcribing strings of Greek letters. There will be two types of transcription assignments: easy and hard.
For the easy assignments the string length will be 6 letters (see figure 1A below).

For the hard assignments the string length will be 8 letters. In addition, the images provided for the hard assignment will be blurred (see figure 1B below).

By clicking on the appropriate buttons in the bottom row, you can generate a string that matches the image. If you believe you have made a mistake, you can correct your answer by clicking on the backwards button .
Note that the order of the buttons will be randomized for each assignment.
Two practice rounds will take place: one for the easy assignments and one for the hard assignments, each lasting 60 seconds. You will start with the easy assignments, then move on to the hard assignments. While these practice rounds are unpaid, they are designed to help you become acquainted with the transcription tasks, enabling you to perform better in subsequent paid stages.
After you experience the easy/hard assignments, you need to provide a rating for the difficulty of the assignments (with a scale from 1 to 10, where 1 = extremely easy and 10 = extremely difficult).
If you are ready to begin stage 2, please click the "NEXT" button.
