You are about to participate in a research study. The purpose of the study is to better understand employees’ behavior in organizations. Your participation is completely voluntary, and you may withdraw from the study at any time. The estimated time to complete this study is approximately 15 minutes.
If you agree to participate in this study, we will ask you to do the following:
a. Read an overview of the study and perform multiple iterations of a decision-making task.
b. Complete a short questionnaire.
Risks:
a. Your participation in this study does not involve any physical or emotional risk to you beyond the risks of daily life.
b. As with all research, one potential risk is a loss of confidentiality. However, we are taking precautions to minimize this risk by identifying each participant with an identification number.
Compensation:
You will receive $1.00 for completing the study, with the opportunity to earn additional compensation. The additional compensation you can earn ranges from $0.00 to $1.50, and will depend, at least in part, on your decisions during the study. You will receive your total compensation once you complete the task and the questionnaire and your HIT is approved.
Confidentiality:
All your responses to this study will be kept confidential. We will collect IP addresses to ensure that no one completes the task more than once. We will not use your IP address for any other purpose than screening out duplicate IP addresses, and your IP address will be kept confidential. We will also have access to your MTurk ID. We will neither attempt to link your MTurk ID to any identifiable information nor attempt to find your identity through your MTurk ID.
