A few weeks ago, other Prolific users participated in a group task in which each participant was randomly assigned to a group of three. Each group consisted of {{player.galera}}. At the beginning of each round, every participant started with 20 points and had the opportunity to collaborate with their group members in a joint project. More information about the project and the objectives of the task will be provided shortly.

In each round, each participant independently decided how many points to contribute to the joint project. A contribution could be any whole number from 0 to 20. Each point contributed to the joint project was multiplied by 1.5.

"The result of the joint project was calculated by adding up the contributions of all three group members (always multiplied by 1.5). Then the result of the project was evenly split among all 3 participants, always giving 1/3 of the project result to each participant in the group, {{player.galera}}.

The points not contributed to the project also counted towards the earnings of a participant.

Thus, the total earnings of a participant in each round was:

Total earnings = (20 – the participant’s contribution to the project) + ^{1.5 ×(total contribution to the project)}⁄₃

The participants completed 10 rounds with the same group.

A participant's earnings from the experiment were the sum of their earnings across these 10 rounds.
