Stockpile and Savings

Gameplay Rules

  1. In each round, try to obtain enough of each of the 4 resources (energy, consumer products, medical supplies, food) to meet your country's needs.
  2. If resource needs are not met, the following penalties apply:
    • Production costs are increased. You’ll encounter the biggest rise in production costs if you are unable to meet medical needs, followed by food and energy needs, and finally consumer good needs
    • Production output is reduced. For every unit of consumer goods not met, it reduces output of all goods by 0.5. For every unit of energy not met, it reduces output of all goods by 0.75. For every unit of food not met, it reduces output of all goods by 0.75. For every unit of medical supplies not met, it reduces output of all goods by 1.
  3. You may choose to produce resources at a cost, trade with other players, and borrow and lend.
  4. You may also choose to gift resources and donate funds to other countries.
You are playing as Amerikas.
  • You may edit values in the fields highlighted in yellow.
  • Fields in blue are highlighted as key indicators of your country's performance.
  • Values on your page will change accordingly with trading and lending decisions made by other countries.

In each round, a shock event may occur. As the name suggests, these events occur without warning, and typically have adverse effects on one or more countries. Each country is notified of a shock event taking place through the "International Events" announcement box below, although affected countries may receive more detailed information on the event.

International Events:
An oil tanker has run aground in Maldivia and a massive volume of unrefined crude oil is spilling into an important commercial fishing area. Since Maldivia is an internationally vital exporter of fish products, the cost of food production worldwide is increased by $1 for this round.

Starting Stockpile and Savings

This table indicates the savings and stockpiled resources you begin the round with. These values do not change with any actions you take during the round and are for your reference.

Summary

This section summarises the state of your resources and savings as a result of the actions which you have taken in this round.

The resources table summarises your country's resources, and updates automatically with your actions.

  • The net quantity indicates whether you currently have a deficit or surplus of each resource. Negative values, indicated in red, mean that you have insufficient resources (from stockpile and production) to meet your needs and/or agreed trades.
  • The lowest possible amount of resources in your stockpile is 0, i.e. you cannot 'owe' resources to your stockpile.

If you fail to meet your country's needs, a penalty applies in terms of an increase in production cost and a decrease in production output in the next round. You will be notified if the penalty is in effect with a message like the one below, which will also indicate the resource needs you failed to meet in the previous round.

You failed to meet your energy needs, so morale among your citizens is low. You need to pay them more to incentivize them to work. Default production output is decreased, and production costs for all goods have increased.

Income & Expenditure

The income and expenditure table summarises the net income from actions you have taken, according to the categories of: production, trade, and borrowing & lending. If actions taken cause savings to fall below $0, progress for all players will be impeded, and must be corrected before any player can progress to the next round. Negative savings are indicated in red.
