<b>Context</b>
<p>
People taking part in our study were <u>randomly</u> assigned to two groups.
<ul>
    <li>People randomly assigned to be an Agent A completed Version A, in which they had to count the number of times the letter 'A' appeared in the tables.</li>
    <li>People randomly assigned to be an Agent B completed Version B, in which they had to count the number of times the letter 'B' appeared in the tables.</li>
</ul>
</p>
<p>
All agents completed the task for 4 minutes.
They all received the <u>same payment for their participation</u>, regardless of their score.
</p>
<p>
We also informed the agents that they might get some <u>additional bonus</u> based on how many tables they solved and on others' decisions.
More information about the bonus will follow later.
</p>
<p>
After they completed the task, we matched each Agent A with one Agent B to form pairs.    
</p>
