You shall complete a set of letter-to-number encryptions. You will get additional money for every encryption completed.

Encryption instructions:
We will give you a 'word' formed by letters. In the example below: the 'word' is XR.
Every letter has a 3-digit number assigned, displayed in the encryption table you will find in each task.
Your task is to submit the 'code' assigned to the 'word'. The 'code' is formed by all digits, with no space between them. In the example below: the 'code' is 385054.

Example:

Payment

You need to complete a minimum of 5 encryptions to get paid for completing the study. You can only advance to the next encryption once you succesfully complete the previous one. There is no time limit to complete each encryption.

You can earn additional money (bonus payment) depending on the effort you want to exert. You will produce money for each succesfully completed encryption. Before starting, you will be randomly assigned a piece-rate payment. You can earn 5 cents (~ 0.06 USD) or 50 cents (~ 0.60 USD) for each encryption completed. Once assigned, the piece-rate payment will not change.

Payment example:

If the piece-rate payment is 5 cents (~ 0.06 USD) per encryption and you complete 10 encryptions successfully, you will produce 0.50 GBP (~ 0.60 USD). If you complete 20 encryptions, you will produce 1.00 GBP (~ 1.20 USD).

If the piece-rate payment is 50 cents (~ 0.60 USD) per encryption and you complete 10 encryptions successfully, you will produce 5.00 GBP (~ 6.00 USD). If you complete 20 encryptions, you will produce 10.00 GBP (~ 12.00 USD) .

The total amount of money you produce will not necessarily be the same you get. Another participant will be able to increase or decrease your final bonus payment.

Trial

Before you start the study, you will complete 3 trial encryptions to become familiar with the task. You will only proceed after succesfully completing the 3 encryptions.
