        <p>
            This is an experiment on choice and decision-making, based on a basic interaction between two people.
            During the session you will be repeatedly matched with other people selected at random, and interact by choosing one of two available plans-of-action.
            You will earn money during this experiment which will be paid out in cash at the end of the experiment.
            The amount of money you earn will depend on your choices, the choices of the people you are matched with, and a random chance component.
        </p>

        <p>
            To help with our research, we would greatly appreciate your full attention during the experiment.
            If you have any questions, you may raise your hand at any time.
            Otherwise, please remain quiet and respectful of other participants during the session.
        </p>

        <h5>Session overview</h5>
        <p>
            The session will consist of three parts:
            <ul style="list-style-type: square">
                <li><b style="font-weight: 550">Part I - Instructions</b></li>
                <li><b style="font-weight: 550">Part II - Practice rounds</b></li>
                <li><b style="font-weight: 550">Part III - Main experiment rounds</b></li>
            </ul>

            The session will then end with a short demographic survey.
            In total, the session is expected to last <u>90 minutes</u>.
            To receive your payment, you are required to stay until the end of the 90 minutes, or until all participants have finished (whichever is earlier).
            You may leave anytime before this, but will not receive any payment if you do so.
        </p>

        <h5>How your payment will be determined</h5>
        <p>
            In this experiment, the money you can earn is as follows:
            <ul style="list-style-type: square">
                <li>You will receive a participation payment of <span style="font-weight: 550">$5</span> upon completing the experiment</li>
                <li>In <span style="font-weight: 550">Part I</span>, after the experiment instructions are provided, you will be asked a short quiz. You can earn <span style="font-weight: 550">up to $5</span> by answering these correctly</li>
                <li>In <span style="font-weight: 550">Part III</span> you will be matched with other people and carry out interactions. You can earn <span style="font-weight: 550">up to $30</span> based the outcome of these interactions, which depends on the choices of yourself, those you are matched with, and random chance</li>
            </ul>

        <p>
            <span style="font-weight: 550">Part II</span> are practice rounds and will <u style="font-weight: 550">not</u> count towards the money you earn.
            Your <span style="font-weight: 550">total earnings across the experiment is expected to be between $20-$40</span>.
