Welcome to our experiment! Today, you will play a variation of the public good game.
In this game, subjects secretly choose how many of their points they contribute to a public good. The sum of all contributions are multiplied by a efficiency factor and evenly divided among players. Each subject also keeps the points they do not contribute.
Our class will be our fictional society and you will be divided into three social classes: the lower-class, the middle-class and the upper-class.
The lower-class players will have an endowment of 20 points, the middle-class players of 35 points and the upper-class players of 100 points. Note that this approximation briefly represents the differences in income in European western countries (for example Germany and France).
Additionally, a part of your endowment will not be accessible because you need it as incompressible consumption (paying your rent, buying food, etc.). This incompressible consumption amounts to 15 points for EACH player (independently of the social class). The residual (endowment - incompressible consumption) can be spent however you wish (either additional consumption or contribution to the public good).
The efficiency factor is {{C.MULTIPLIER}}
You are part of {{player.role_string}}.
Being part of a social class isn't just about revenues. Before the experiment begins, here are a few preliminary questions. Please don't rush and take the time you need!
