In Part 3, participants will undergo a random and anonymous reassignment into new pairs. This means that the partner you are matched with will be different from the one you were paired with in the previous games (Part 1 and 2).

In Part 3, there are two choice lists: Choice List 1 and Choice List 2. Each list comprises various binary options. Your task in the game is to make a choice between the binary options for each given situation.

Example: This illustrates a choice list with two options for each situation. In Situation 1 below, you will receive 5.0 points, and your counterpart will also receive the same amount if you choose Option A. Alternatively, if you opt for Option B, both you and your counterpart will receive 2.0 points each.

No. Option A OR... Option B
You Counterpart You Counterpart
1. 5.0 points 5.0 points 2.0 points 2.0 points
2. 4.42 points 5.58 points 2.0 points 2.0 points
3. 4.36 points 5.64 points 2.0 points 2.0 points

In this part, the participants' payoff will be determined by only one of the two choice lists: Choice List 1 or Choice List 2. The process involves two steps. In Step I, the computer randomly selects one list from Choice Lists 1 and 2 of both sides. In Step II, the computer then randomly selects one of your choices from the previously selected list (in Step I), and this choice will be the payment proposal for both you and the other participant in this part.
