Instructions

Choose a number between 0 and 100. You will win and get the chance to execute the trade according to your preferences if your chosen number is closest to two-thirds (2/3) times the average of all chosen numbers of the people in your class.

Put differently: All participants decide on a number in the given interval. The average is calculated from all the chosen numbers. This average is multiplied by 2/3. This number is the number being searched, and whoever's guess is closest to this number wins.

You will have 3 minutes to insert your guess. The experimenter will inform you when the 3 minutes are over.

PLEASE NOTE:
  • Three Buyers and three Sellers will be the winners of this round
  • The winners will have the chance to trade according to their preferences after all three rounds are completed
  • One of those three rounds will be randomly selected
  • The winners of that round will be compensated according to their preferences
  • "Losers" will not trade if the round is to be selected - Sellers will NOT be able to keep their chocolate bar!
  • This means: "Losers" that own a chocolate bar must give it back to the experimenter!
